Surgery is done. In the recovery area at 4 am. I had some issues. I was told it was very likely the entire surgery could be done by laparoscopy but they had to open me. They told me I had a low chance that I would need an ileostomy. But I awoke and had a little friend I did not want. Surgery was longer than expected as the intraoperative radiation took longer than expected. That noise you heard is my stoma and it sings all the time. I do like my PCA pump. No epidural though. Pain not as bad as my last surgery. During my prep I did puke and rally. The surgeon was however happy with the surgery. My liver enzymes are higher and it is a little concerning. Signing off the hydromorphone (Dilaudid) is winning. Back to sleep.
Glad to see you passing gas and videotaping. God love you!!!!!
Big hugs, we love you,
Brian and Martha
